Small patch antenna with short-circuited elements

An original lightweight, low-cost and compact patch antenna with short-circuited elements, fed by a coaxial probe, is presented. The resonance length of the antenna is around 0.094 /spl lambda//sub 0/. The resonant frequency can be reduced by /spl sim/81% when compared with the resonant edge of a conventional patch antenna.
