Whither metering?

Privatisation of the electricity industry has been enacted, with the stated aim of bringing an improved customer service at lower cost through competition and greater choice. Developments in electronics and communications have meant the development of improved electricity meters which show the cost of electricity at that instant and so give the customers an incentive to reduce their demand at times of peak load.<
