Fiber Optic Transmission Systems--Status and Trends in Japan

Development of large-capacity optical fiber transmission systems in Japan is reviewed and futuristic optoelectronic technologies are discussed including optical devices and their integration, optical fibers, coherent transmission, and optical switching studies.
