A Resistance Network with Quasi-Infinite Boundaries

When a resistance network is used as an analog in the solution of problems involving Laplace's and Poisson's equations, it is difficult to establish boundary conditions at infinity. A practical method of taking account of current entering or leaving the network at infinity is outlined. The errors involved are of the same order as those in the finite difference approximation. An indication of the accuracy achieved is given for a small network. Examples of applications to field plotting and network analysis are presented.
