Abstract:

This paper aims to formulate and describe the results of approbation of an algorithm for calculating radiator signals of a matrix simulator, that allows reproducing reflections from extended above-water objects. The suggested algorithm allows taking special aspects of an extended abovewater objects reflections formation into account, including the simulation of angular coordinates noise, the effect of the sea surface waves on the characteristics of the reflected signal. The algorithm is based on using the four-point non-coherent geometrical model, which can be used for matrix simulator design. The paper provides analytical relations that allow calculating the parameters of radiator signals of a matrix simulator based on the input data on the radar image of the simulated object and its rocking parameters. Coordinate systems allowing to account for the effect of movement of a radar carrier and a target object on the sum reflected signal is used. The equations for a transition between the chosen coordinate systems are given. The validity of the algorithm is confirmed by the computer simulation results of extended object echo signals. The results are verified by estimation of the correlation function and the distribution function of the apparent radiation center, obtained using the classical multipoint model and the “wandering” point method. The obtained results can be used in the development of software simulation complexes for simulation modeling of extended radar objects reflections.
