Improving the Operation of Power System Control During Disturbances Using FACTS Controllers

The rapidly evolving FACTS systems, especially thanks to the more technically majestic power semiconductor devices, are opening a new era in their more frequent and immediate implementations into the power system. Presented research with simulation in the program matlab Simulink. Mathematical control types SVC, STATCOM, SSSC and UPFC are compiled together with controllers for PSS and AVR generators. The main goal is to compare the operation with the use of FACTS controllers and without them for short circuits. On a simple network model (from production to consumption), selected FACTS devices are inserted into the diagrams. Their impact on function and the ability to improve quality, safety, reliability and toughness is summarized in the conclusion.
