Ensuring Reliability and Safety of the Continuous Passenger Transport Technical Systems

The article deals with the problems of ensuring the reliability and operational safety of continuous passenger transport vehicles for the nodal objects of the urban transport network. The analysis and risk assessment of the reliability of continuous passenger transport technical systems are carried out using expert methods, tools of the theory of reliability and risk management. The reliability and safety of escalators are analyzed on the example of transfer stations of the Moscow metro. A design method for improving safety is proposed based on the analysis of the key causes of the most common dangerous failures. The entrance and intermediate tests project for the rolling supports for escalator stair treads is considered as an example of the corrective actions to improve reliability. Methodological recommendations for ensuring the reliability and safety of the functioning of the continuous passenger transport technical systems at the transport infrastructure objects of the metropolis are proposed.
