Finite Element Modeling of the Time-harmonic Electromagnetic Field Scattering into an Axisymmetric Medium

A computational scheme based on the finite element method has been developed to simulate the propagation of a time-harmonic electromagnetic field excited by a logging tool coil in a horizontally layered medium. The influence of displacement currents on signal propagation is investigated depending on the frequency of the current in the transmitter coil.
