Abstract:

This paper proposes and demonstrates the significance of highly confined fields to develop biosensors for glucose measurements. Generating highly confined fields with concentrated energies at a particular point helps in enhancing the sensitivity of the sensing region of the biosensor. Due to the reduction in losses which can be incurred by radiation through air, the proposed principle can be helpful in designing highly sensitive sensors for glucose monitoring. The concept has been further demonstrated here using a biosensor design.
