Abstract:

To overcome the deterioration of azimuth resolution and excessive computation of multiple signal classification (MUSIC) method in forward-looking imaging for airborne radar, this paper proposes an airborne radar forward-looking imaging algorithm based on beam-space MUSIC. The paper firstly uses array elements to synthesize a certain number of beam channels as data receiving channels, then estimates the covariance of the synthetic beam data, finally obtains spatial spectrum with MUSIC algorithm and achieves imaging. As verified by simulation, compared with the traditional real-beam imaging technology, this algorithm can effectively improve the resolution, and compared with MUSIC algorithm, this algorithm has a significant improvement in computational speed.
