A Comparative Study of CMPA and CDRA at X-Band

In this present paper, the broader aspects of CMPA and CDRA are presented for X-Band. The categories of antennas, taken for study is Circular Microstrip Patch Antenna, Cylindrical Dielectric Resonator Antenna at 8.1 GHz. The fundamental aspect of these study is that these antennas are designed, in consideration with same shapes, same feeding techniques and are analyzed by optimization techniques such as Genetic Algorithm (GA), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Interpolated Quasi Newton (IPQN), by using CST-MWS. These antennas are designed by using FR-4 (εr=4.3), which is a low cost commercially available substrate. The alumina (εr

=9.4) substrate is used for DR. It is observed, CMPA exhibits a bandwidth of 200 MHz (7.95-8.15 GHz), whereas CDRA is exhibiting 1.1 GHz (7.6-8.7 GHz). All other antenna parameters are analyzed. The interpretation of optimized techniques is taken into consideration with designed antennas. Altogether, it would be a combination of theoretical results based on empirical formulas, simulated results and the optimized outcomes, based on the EM solver.
