Better preparation of sol-gel Thin Film optical filter in presence of Surfactant

Preparation of sol-gel thin film was fabricated using spin-coating method. The preparation of a precursor containing tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) and Bismarck Brown Y (BBY) dye was prepared with different concentrations of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) surfactant. Different concentrations of BBY were analyzed by measuring the absorbance using an Ocean Optics spectrometer. Its uniformity was examined under Axio Scope. A1 (ZEIZZ) microscope as well. After the best BBY concentrations were identified, different concentrations of SDS surfactant and their uniformity were analyzed. The presence of SDS in the sol-gel thin film improved repeatability of fluorophore (6-FAM) fluorescence measurements using CMOS sensor.
