Strengthening the practical education of students in the field of instrumentation and measurement

Important problems for the engineering education system are providing students with practical skills and combining multiple elements of practical knowledge to fulfill a specific engineering task. Simultaneously, commercial companies operating in the area of instrumentation and measurement (I&M) demand rapid development and testing of systems and devices that cannot be carried out by their own employees. The problem is particularly visible due to the multidisciplinary profile of education that we face in I&M. The scope of knowledge that students must learn is large; it includes measurement techniques, sensors, non-electrical measurements, microprocessor systems, informatics and elements for control and automation. These issues are compounded by the physics, chemistry, and mechanics of the measurement subsystems.
