A New Error Correction Scheme for Physical Unclonable Function

Error correction is an indispensable component when physical unclonable functions (PUFs) are used in cryptographic applications, because environmental factors influence PUFs' performance. Nowadays, syndrome-based scheme and code-offset scheme are used in PUF error correction. In this paper, a new scheme named error correction with multiple challenge-response pairs (ECMC) is proposed to perform better than code-offset scheme under certain circumstances.
