Microstructure and Magnetism of a Nd-Fe-B Sintered Magnet Investigated Using Synchrotron X-Rays

Nd-Fe-B sintered magnets are the best permanent magnets that have ever been obtained [1], and are used in a wide variety of applications such as energy-saving appliances, (hybrid) electric vehicles, wind power generators, and so on. In these applications, the magnets are used for motors which require higher coercivity in order to be robust against demagnetization fields.
