Quality controlled image compressor using tiny block size encoding cellular automata

To overcome the problem of storage the researchers proposed multiple compression techniques which were helpful in storing the data efficiently. There were two types of compression proposed one if the lossy which was helping a lot in saving the memory whereas the lossless was slow and was not as efficient on storage. Therefore the quality of the compression came into the picture. In this paper we propose quality controlled image compression using tiny block size encoding which is achieved using the SPIHT (Set Partitioning in Hierarchical Trees), SIWT (Scale Invariant Wavelet Transform) and TiBS (Tiny Block Size Encoding) and finally applying cellular automata for enhancing the quality of all the formats of the images taken as input. The result of the proposed techniques shows a performance efficiency and also the quality of the compression is easily manageable.
