Mechanism and characteristics of photovoltaic power generation operation

Photovoltaic cells are often obscured by the shadow and produce power mismatch in practical application. This paper adopts a series of photovoltaic cells with bypass diodes and parallel photovoltaic cells with blocking diodes to establish the model of photovoltaic cells in order to reduce the power loss caused by mismatch. The research shows that the series of photovoltaic cells with bypass diodes can divide current and the parallel photovoltaic cells with blocking diodes can prevent the reverse flow of the current effectively. Both of them can reduce the power loss caused by the mismatches to a certain extent. But they also cause the multi-peak power curves, which cause a lot of inconvenience for maximum power tracking.
