Design of robust sliding mode and fuzzy logic controllers for boost and buck-boost converters

This paper describes the modelling of a dc-dc boost as well as a buck-boost converter and the designing of both sliding mode as well as fuzzy logic control technique for the converters. The converters are modelled using their dynamic equations and a suitable sliding mode controller and a fuzzy logic controller with error and derivative of the error as the input and duty ratio as the output is modelled to control the capacitor output voltage. The performances of the controllers are verified using both line and load regulations. The simulations are carried out using MATLAB/Simulink.
