A study on the local shielding protection of electronic components in space radiation environment

In this paper, we investigated the efficiency of local shielding structures against trapped particles, galactic cosmic rays and solar particles to meet mission reliability objectives considering also mass and volume optimization. The local shielding applications using high-Z materials are also investigated for total ionizing dose levels and internal charging characteristics with 3D radiation analysis.
