Introduction: Information as Material

On November 16, 2015, the United States Air Force announced that it had recently completed the third and final test of a B61-12 nuclear gravity bomb. The B61-12 was designed as part of a program called the Life Extension Program, intended to update the US stockpile of nuclear weapons. The weapon tested in the Nevada desert, though, did not itself contain any enriched nuclear material.
