Software Diagnostics Based on the Software Component's Feature Measurements and Software Performance Quality Indicators in the FSSM

This chapter describes how the Software Component's Feature Measurements (SCFMs) and Software Performance Quality Indicators (SPQIs) can be used as a help to diagnose the software and functional requirements. The cases presented are for general help and should be used as general guidelines only because there may be some exceptions to the described cases in some particular software applications, so the diagnostics should not be very rigorously adhered to in those cases of exceptions. A few cases describe how the values of the SCFMs and SPQIs can help understand the status of the Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS) from the point of view of improvements needed in them, as well as the software architectural aspects from the point of view of attention needed for designing the software/hardware. A few basic diagnostic techniques to find out the condition and status of the FRS and characteristics of the resulting software based on the FRS are also presented.
