Modified Vivaldi monopole antenna array for vehicle-mounted wireless signal detection system

In this paper, a modified Vivaldi monopole antenna array is proposed to realize the low-profile application in vehicle-mounted wireless signal detection system. The array is arranged circularly with 8 Vivaldi monopole antennas, operating in 0.8GHz–2.7GHz. In contrast to array designs using traditional Vivaldi antenna, the array has omnidirectional radiating pattern and compact size. Each basis element of the array performs well for horizontal scan to 60° and vertical san to 35°. The gain of the single Vivaldi monopole is up to 10dBi.
