Abstract:
Wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) devices are becoming increasingly important for fiber-optics communication. Large-channel fanout, low loss, and compatibility with fiber connections, laser sources and detectors are desired. For fiber-to-home applications, dual-functionality of wavelength selection and beam splitting may also be necessary. In this work, we present a novel grating-in-etalon WDM device, which has the potential to offer the desired properties.
