Abstract:

This paper describes a method of designing strictly dissipative observer-based controllers insuring an H/sub 2/ suboptimal constraint on the closed-loop system. We give an LMI (linear matrix inequalities) based solution to this problem and show how it can be useful for robust control of flexible structures with non-collocated actuators and sensors. One example is given in order to illustrate the main results.
