Abstract:

Thermo-optic coefficients (dn/dT) determine the temperature characteristics of the nonlinear optical laser devices. These coefficients are analyzed critically by using a new model for the first time to formulate the temperature dispersion which can predict accurately the temperature bandwidths for various nonlinear interactions in a flux-grown KTP crystal. This model is based on the optical bandgaps, such as excitonic, a newly identified isentropic, and the thermal expansion coefficient.<>
