The design of highly linear broadband power amplifiers

The use of the feedforward technique to linearise high-power amplifiers is described, with particular reference to its use in cellular radio base station applications. The feedforward technique is, however, applicable to a wide variety of applications requiring high degrees of linearity and broad bandwidth operation. Measurements on a practical system are presented to illustrate the exceptional levels of performance which can be achieved with this kind of system.<>
