An adaptive solution to information burn-out

Concerns the design of adaptive interfaces to give useful information to computer users. The design is based on two considerations. First, the potential of a human being to receive and process information is restricted by time and by intellectual capacities. Second, the contemplation of anything intelligent-it need not be written-helps the mind to flourish and grow. The design of the adaptive interface should be based on models from associative information retrieval, object-oriented programming, and causal networks. Using this hybrid methodology two strategies may be realized to cope with the flood of information: simplification and personalization, and depreciation of information.<>
