Abstract:
Advantages of the higher frequencies used for mmWave 5G, make it suitable for providing high-speed connectivity in densely populated areas or supporting ultra-low latency applications. In this manuscript, a novel Scalable Training OFDM (ST-OFDM) signal is synthesized and used in conjunction with a digital pre-distortion routine to enhance the performance of a mmWave 5G hybrid beamforming array. The proposed method provides \sim 4 dBc of Adjacent Channel Power Ratio (ACPR) improvement compared to the popular average DPD technique.
