Abstract:

Given the Philippines' enormous population in modern times, the demand for electricity and household appliances proves to be a commodity in every household. Consequently, the overuse of such device's risks running into electrical hazards. The paper is aimed to develop a device to detect and prevent electrical faults in commonly used household appliances. Prevention of overheating in wires and overloading can reduce possible disasters at home. Additionally, it features a monitoring system for current and voltage while also measuring the temperature of the wire. The gathered data showed that the device is 93.76% accurate in measuring current, 99.18% accurate in measuring voltage, and 98.16% accurate in measuring the temperature of the wire. It was also observed that the maximum temperature of the wire being used ranges from 40° to 60°. Exceeding this may result in some damage to the wire. Furthermore, there was a slight correlation between the current being used to the temperature of the wire.
