Abstract:
Valveless pulsejets are lightweight, effective in action, low in cost and very simple in assembly. It is excellent to show (for example for students) how this kind of engine works, what parameters we can measure, what type of fuel it is using etc. The main problem is how to control the thrust and preliminary ignition of this engine. The article shows a device to solve this problem. The first part of the article shows mechanical construction made of solenoids and mechanic valves controlling by servomotors creating simple thrust control device. It changes the gas flow. Also, fuel dose can be controlled by a potentiometer on the control panel. What is more, the gas supply can be shut off immediately. The second part of the article shows the ignition system that is created from an ordinary spark plug and electronic silicon board that is using for converting 12V current from the battery into the spark in the spark plug. The last part of the article shows possible uses of the engine and the results of measurements of dependence between fuel flow to creating thrust and dependency between the time of action on full thrust to the temperature of the engine. The article is showing only theoretical approach of the construction, and the operating algorithms which were created on the knowledge acquired during the creation of the psychical prototype showed in the end.
