Abstract:

Supply Chain Management has no doubt become companies' strategy to enhance their competitiveness. Companies have made great efforts to redesign and reengineer their supply chains. A systematic and comprehensive approach is required to guide the practitioners in their exercises. SCOR, a process reference model, has gained significant attention among practitioners to serve the role in recent years. SCOR has been applied in many manufacturing areas for supply chain modelling and improvement, but it fails to provide a complete guidance for whole cycle of supply chain management improvement processes, especially, in Telecom industry. Very limited researches have been done in modelling and improving Telecom industry supply chain by using SCOR. This paper gives an overview of SCOR model, and analyses SCOR limitations for application in Telecom industry. Enhancement to SCOR and a SCOR based practical roadmap for SCM modelling and implementation are proposed and applied in a case study for Telecom industry. This paper also analyses qualitative and quantitative benefits from the SCOR implementation in Telecom industry.
