Solar power: control systems, the integrating of components with the grid system, and the effective management/control of both

The intent of this paper is to discuss and examine the integration of a solar (alternative) power source, with the traditional power grid. This discussion is limited to solar photovoltaic (PV), wind generators, and battery storage that must be integrated and controlled in a safe and predictable way while interfacing with the public's power source. The paper shows that the individual components of an "alternative" power supply can be managed and controlled in a safe and responsible way and that such a system can be beneficial to the owners of both the alternative power system and the traditional power company. It is explained how, through technical advancement, it is possible for the two technologies to coexist as well as being mutually complementary. The benefits are far-reaching and long lasting to all that wish to partake in the emerging technologies.
