Abstract:

As the scale of the data center continues to ex-pand, the management of servers in the data center becomes more and more challenging. Traditional BMC-based out-of-band management methods, such as IPMI, Redfish, etc., will face new challenges today since data centers have already expanded to be marvelous large-scale. In this paper, we propose a novel BM C-based centralized management method to manage large-scale data centers. It consists of a data protocol and a communication architecture. The data protocol defines the datagram and message flow used to securely transport data between the BM Cs and the centralized management server. The communication architecture is a three-phase network architecture designed to support parallel management of large-scale data centers. We verify the security of the data protocol using BAN logic and evaluate the performance of the implemented prototype. The experimental results show that with the expansion of the scale of data centers, our proposed method can achieve the secure and efficient management of large-scale data centers.
