High Performance Read and Write Policy of Multilevel Cache Memory

Cache memory plays a major role in the improvement of speed and performance in the modern processors. The cache memory is a small memory situated between the CPU and primary (or main) memory. The read and write polices of the cache memory has a significant role on the overall performance of the processor. This paper explains the comparative analysis of various read and write policies of cache memory present in processors. Also, this work shows that the cache design with write through and simultaneous read/update (htype) policy requires less cycles than all the other techniques while the trade-off in resource utilization.
