Study on the Influence of Complex Terrain on Optimal Sensor Layout

Industrial gas leakage accidents seriously threaten people's life and health. Optimizing the layout of sensors can accurately infer the diffusion trajectory of toxic clouds and reduce disaster losses. Meanwhile, the optimal sensor layout can not only save cost but also improve monitoring performance. In this paper, we study the influence of complex terrain on pollutant diffusion and formulate the strategy of finding the optimal sensor layout under complex terrain using the method of maximizing mutual information. The experimental results show that the wind temperature field special, turbulence field, and downwash effect are formed due to the obstruction of the hill, which leads to great concentration changes when the gas diffuses around the hill, so it is necessary to arrange sensors around the hill.
