Thermal Neutron Radiography Facility Based on 13 MeV Proton Linac on Be Target

Based on the neutron source of the CNS DARIA project the article a neutron radiography unit was simulated via the MCNPX 2.4.0 radiation transport code which uses the Monte Carl code. Both the design and the simulation have been simulated in order to maximize all the important with thermal-neutron radiography factors. The presented facility has been examined for a broad range of these parameters namely for the L/D ratio, the thermal neutron flux and the thermal neutron content in two cases with and without fast neutron filter. With intention to evaluate the results of the unit made a comparison with other similar facilities which are published in this scientific area. The comparison reveals that facility is capable to supply an excellent possibility for the installation of a thermal-neutron radiography unit.
