Polarization transforming metasurface for millimeter-wave (mmW) applications

The proposed broadband sub-wavelength reflective metasurface provides larger bandwidth at multiple bands and the design exhibits multiple functions over a variety of bands. It performs linear to circular polarization over eight different bands and cross polarization for four different bands. The maximum bandwidth achieved for linear to circular polarization and cross polarization is 21.4 GHz and 10.3 GHz respectively. The axial ratio for circular polarization is lower than 3dB in all the operational bands. Moreover, the polarization conversion ratio for the cross-polarization conversion is in between 90 to 100%.
