Abstract:

In the present work, an analysis and modeling of a method for the control and reduction of exposure to magnetic fields produced by existing or planned power lines that pass through urban areas and exceed the maximum limit established in the standards and recommendations adopted by each region. The method is based on placing a conductive loop under the span to be mitigated and this loop; by the principle of electromagnetic induction (Faraday and Lenz's Law), generate a field that opposes the field generated by the line, thus generating a resulting CM with a lower value than the initial one. The calculation made in this report considers the deflection effect of the conductors due to their own weight, improving and giving greater support to the results. Furthermore, the method is applied to diverse types of power line configurations such as flag, double flag, three coils, layer type, etc.; to find the ideal location where the greatest mitigation of the magnetic field would be obtained.
