Structure for Demultiplexer in QCA Technology for Nanocommunication Systems

Short-channel effects in the nanoscale region are the limiting factors for the complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) technology. Short-channel effects cause high leakage current, poor speed, and large area necessity. The material's restriction for scaling is forcing us to develop new technology for the electronics field. Quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA) technology performs well for the prime factors in the nanoscale region. So, it is a great choice for circuit developers. A demultiplexer is required during the communication process. It paid a key role in the development of the nanocommunication systems. This research paper presents an effective demultiplexer unit structure using QCA technology. The proposed design is compared with the existing designs for the different parameters. The comparison results provide the efficient implementation of the demultiplexer unit in QCA technology. The proposed demultiplexer unit consists of 17 QCA cells and 0.25 clock latency without any crossover.
