Digital Inclusion: A Study on Optimizing Emotional UI Design Based on the Characteristics of Older People

With the simultaneous arrival of digitalization and aging, older people are more likely to use online applications. Based on the characteristics of elderly users, this study explores the direction of UI emotional design. First, the authors summarize and analyze the interface elements and emotional design. Secondly, based on the physiological and psychological characteristics of the elderly, they investigate the characteristics of elderly users, analyze their influence on UI design, and propose design optimization strategies. For instance, they suggest building a "familiar" interface language for the elderly, creating a good interface visual effect, providing practical and clear operation feedback, and more positive emotional feedback. The research results can provide methodological guidance for the UI design of mobile applications.
