Measured Performances Of High Gain PCB Planar Antenna For Portable Infantry Radars

As of lightweight, low profile, small size and easy integrability - planar antennas are preferable solutions for modern infantry radar applications. The paper presents measured performances of realized printed planar antenna for application in portable infantry radars. The measured printed antenna array consists of 256 antenna elements and uses Dolph Chebyshef current distribution. It is realized on a single PCB and represents a breadboard model to assess achievable performances of planar antenna for mobile radar applications. Tested PCB planar antenna shows that overall performances of such solution, including achievable gain figures, are satisfactory and they are in the range required by modern infantry radar applications.
