Performance analysis of low-cost GNSS sensors under constant rotational motion

The low-cost GNSS receivers have recently evolved into satisfactory accurate and reliable navigational sensors. However, for applications that include spinning vehicle positioning, it is necessary to investigate the receiver’s functionality in the state of the rotation. To examine how circular motion affects the accuracy of the navigational solution, provided by the GNSS sensor, an experimental approach is proposed. The study also includes a performance comparison between several available low-cost receivers. It is shown that with low-cost GNSS sensors, accuracy within declared bounds can be achieved during rotational motion.
