Poster: Forecasting Task Failure in Strength Training

This poster presents the preliminary work of providing injury-preventing feedback for free-weight exercises. The primary goal is to identify features that lead to the safe completion of repetitions. We use logistic regression to forecast if users can execute an additional rep in their active state. Our preliminary study observes standard exercise metrics and energy consumption as individuals reach task failure or show a lack of form. Initial results suggest that performance can forecast the safe completion of future reps.
