Implementation of a Medical History Visualization Framework for Doctors

This poster introduces the implementation of a simple web based online medical history visualization framework for doctors. It has been difficult for a patient to describe his/her past medical history to a doctor either because the patient does not remember the health history or cannot express his/her medical history properly in a doctor-friendly way. Current healthcare systems digitally archive all medical history, and it became technically possible to display the whole history in an efficient way. Our research aims to develop an interactive health Gantt chart so that a doctor can view a patient's lifetime health history at one window. The relevant and important events will be automatically marked. The concept needs to be developed and deployed. This poster explains a simple framework to implement the health Gantt chart. It consists of a light-weight front-end viewer for the doctor and a connection with the database where all the medical history are made available at the back end. The salient point is that the system will be adaptive and interactive to show relevant history so that the doctor can spend less time but can see all the important information he/she requires. The concept of the viewer, the technical requirements and the implementation architecture are presented in this poster.
