Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control for PMSM Based on Imposed Weighting Factor

A major challenge in the finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is that the weighting factor of cost function is not easy to design. This paper adopts the entropy to evaluate the influence of multi-control objectives on the cost function (i.e. weighting factor) by using the dispersion of the control variable. Firstly, the control strategy and weighting factor design method of conventional FCS-MPC are elaborated. Secondly, the calculation steps of the entropy are described. The proposed method avoids the process of debugging the weighting factor in a large number of experiments. The weighting factor is calculated online to select the optimal voltage vector(VV), which realizes the trade-off of multiple control target errors. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed strategy is verified by simulation.
