The challenges of supply chain digitalization: understanding the emotional factors in technology adoption and implementation

Supply chain engineering is undergoing a continuous development through the adoption and implementation of Industry 4.0 strategies. This transition toward the fourth industrial revolution is based on heavy digitalization of operations. In fact, the use of Cyber Physical Systems in operation management proved its effectiveness in enhancing the agility and the costumer experience in manufacturing and service industries, However, it excluded the human and environmental aspects of the management. Therefore, this paper study the importance of the consideration of human factors and emotional abilities in the adoption of smart technology in supply chain 4.0. Moreover, an analysis of the importance of emotional intelligence in supporting the decision-making process is presented.
