Optimize the placement of measurement and remote control switch in distribution network to improve the network observability after network reconfiguration: A bilevel coordinated optimization approach

The topology changes of distribution network caused by switch opening and closing will seriously affect the network observability and measurement placement. This paper presents a coordinated and optimal placement method of phasor measurement unit (PMU) and feeder remote terminal unit (FRTU) in intelligent distribution network. Firstly, the reliability and observability evaluation method of distribution network based on terminal configuration is proposed. On this basis, a double-layer optimization model of PMU and FRTU in distribution network is proposed. The upper layer takes the reliability as the constraint and the minimum total cost as the goal to optimize the FRTU placement. The lower layer optimizes the PMU placement with the observability as the constraint and the minimum number of PMUs as the goal. The effectiveness of the method is verified in the IEEE standard system. The results show that the proposed method can give the most economical scheme to meet the requirements of observability and reliability of distribution network.
