The intelligent detection and separation of geometric errors of four-axis CNC machine tool turntable

When the CNC machine tool turntable rotates, geometric errors in the direction of 6 degrees of freedom were produced. Traditional measurement methods mainly measure the error of a degree of freedom alone, which have problems of low detection efficiency, troublesome operation and inconvenient field test. This paper presented a method for fast separation of six geometric errors of turntable, which was based on THM46100 high-precision four-axis horizontal machining center. To confirm the validity of the proposed method, the filed test was conducted. This paper first introduced the identification model of six-degree-of-freedom errors of the CNC machine tool turntable. Then, with the help of the ball-bar device, the geometric error detection and separation experiment of the turntable were carried out, and the three displacement errors and three angle errors are identified. As a result, the proposed method had the advantages of simple operation, high detection efficiency and suitable for field test.
