Soliton microcombs in silicon-carbide microresonators

We demonstrate SiC-based soliton microcombs operated at room temperature - a key step for integrated SiC nonlinear photonics for frequency metrology applications. We have successfully routed and switched among different soliton states using an auxiliary laser to optically counteract the thermo-optic effect. In addition to single soliton generation, we further observe a wideband comb spectra translation from near-infrared to visible via the second-order nonlinearity, key for the realization of on-chip f -to-2f self-referencing,
