3D-printed High-Gain Wideband Antenna Arrays for Millimeter-Wave Applications

The millimeter-wave high-gain wideband antenna arrays with dual- and linearly-polarized radiation realized by the three-dimensional (3D) printing technology are summarized in this paper. The dual-polarized magneto-electric (ME) dipole and horn antennas serving as the radiating elements are fed by the air-filled full-corporate feed networks. A novel air-filled differential feeding cavity loaded with a shorted-ended cross-shaped waveguide are employed to widen the bandwidth for the array with dual-polarization. In view of the theoretical analysis based on the one-time-reflection circuit model, the X-junctions and multi-reflection-nulls T -junctions are respectively cascaded to form the X-type and H-type topology full-corporate feed networks in order to achieve bandwidth enhancement for the large-scale array. The measured results of the three arrays have confirmed that the 3D-printed arrays are attractive candidate for various millimeter-wave wireless applications.
